    Trial Account HELP :)

    Hi guys,

    I'm new be nice

I have decided to make a level 60 twink frost mage (if this is a huge mistake please tell me now) I have an old school level 60 account so i can join XP gaining AV and rock their socks.

Was just wondering if i take up a TBC trial when i'm about level 58 and farm items from outlands. Can i then return to a vanilla account after? (I don't plan on leveling past 59 (XP off FTW)

Any input here would be fantastic.... i just really want these Lifegiver Britches - Thottbot: World of Warcraft

    Peace out.

You can use your burning crusade trial when you're at level 60 with XP on and have no worries. It will not let you hit 61 on a trial account. I'd recommend hitting 60 and getting a little bit of gear to make the outlands quests easier before doing your trial, unless you have a friend or a main you can use to run yourself through everything.

I'd recommend going to armory and searching a few twink guilds.. Look at what the other mages are using, and use their gear as a "shopping list" for what you need to prioritize during the 10 day trial period. There are other pieces that you will definitely want as well.

First off, I'd definitely go Gnome if you can (390 engineering is amazing).

Link to char dev for Frost Mage

Here is a link to my chardev for a Frost Mage, though your choice of Gems/Trinkets is up to you. With that setup your Ice Barrier absorbs 2000 damage every 24 seconds...so I figured less health is fine. If stacking health you have around 700 spell damage and over 9k health total. I think the spell damage route is best for Frost Mage with their already good survivability.

Btw, if you spec arcane (you have 965 spell power) and go for an arcane missiles + arcane barrage build....a non-crit arcane missiles 5 second channel will deal about 4400 damage with 40% crit chance.

Now imagine arcane power = 5300 damage

Arcane Barrage is hitting for around 2100 as well...yea...

Thank you guys for the input,

I am going to play a horde character just due the the fact my main is a cow. Am i correct in thinking at 60 i will be at the top of the AV bracket but at the bottom of the others?

Also is there no way to get engineering past 375? I am aware these questions may have already been answered but looking make my brain hurt.

The trial account method seems to be a good way of getting professions I will probably go for herbing over mining as the heal i think is a bit more useful.

    Thanks again.

Slyce, you cannot get Engi over 375 anymore, pre 3.1 you could (or 3.1.1).

This is good because you don't have to buy a full version of all expansions and level up your profs.
It is bad because others (like my paladin) have 450 engi.

As for top of AV bracket...you will be high up for sure. If you want to really compete in WSG/AB then stack stamina, get about 8-9% spell hit and hope. 69 twinks hurt very much, but it is possible to still wtfpwn them because they need to play with Exp On so most aren't twinks in the bracket which means you wreck their face.
