    49 Prot Warrior Guide (Alliance)

For those interested, I developed a 49 Prot Warrior Guide based on my lvl 49 character. It is Alliance focused although I think a fair amount of the gear is available to both factions.

It's a good start, I'd consider rebuilding it however since it is slightly outdated and there are other gear options, perhaps also include Horde.

    Suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions, the Avengard Helm does have good Stamina (+25) although nowhere near the AC. What gloves/shoulders are you referring to?

BoA shoulders from wintergrasp with resilience. and either vice grips of the bear/monkey/etc or cragfists of the bear/monkey/etc.

AC isnt that great, especially when a lot of DPS isnt melee. stacking stamina is more important than missing out on great stats for the pure sake of getting higher armor. you can still get 6k+ AC with out gearing for armor. and resilience kicks butt now that it reduces crit chance, and all incoming damage.

I checked out the Helm and started the quest chain that provides it (one positive aspect of no-xp and not having a BG to play in)!

Now I'm going to start gearing for my arms build (why not!). Thanks for the advice.

Falkor (or anyone for that matter) what are the better rings you're referring to?

for FC the dark iron rings (of stamina, etc) are awesome. and i think there's another one that beast out ring of saviors (name escapes me atm) but also a lot cheaper - RoS costs a ton on my servers and isnt necessarily worth it.

This quest chain is easily the most boring in the game...even worse than beast mastery. It further reinforces how much I miss BGing!

its not that bad (at least if the horde version is the same as alliance). go to feralas, kill 3 mobs. go back to tanaris, spend some time in hinterlands, etc. ive done it on 3 toons and its pretty easy, just get a high lvl to kill hakkar (and possibly the people around the egg) and you're golden.
