Also, xfaction.net for cross realm and faction communication

The equivalent of the WebIRC mentioned for EU: Cruelty is xfaction.net. You can use it for for cross realm and faction communication. There's an EU version as well: xfaction.net/eu/

We have been making some use of the Reckoning-29 room lately.

Wsg usually start at 22.00, but if people show up more often, I'm sure we can get games going earlier (we've tried).
We do the best we can, though.
I don't want to blame you guys or anything but well I think the problem is that the new people that come there don't feel welcome at all...Twinks battles are very hardcore, if a new guy decide to come and take a look with an average gear (I mean twinked but no AGM, or fancy hardcore stuff), he is gonna be ripped in half in the middle of the battle. I know when I was playing there, I was playing every night for a while, and one day I meet a new rogue cool we talk to each other a lil bit, and he never came back the next game nor the day after. And basicly if you runned the number of every single twink that have shown up once, you could run at least 5 games with all of that, at once.
I also remain very confident that even it's without real conciousness, everybody knows everybody, I mean ally to horde, you would rather not focus your "friend", but the new guy you give no shit about... And don't try to look at what I'm saying as if I was screaming from the church about me, I don't. I was sitting pretty tight at the top of the food chain. That's just the obversations I made.

You can play real hard between you guys if you want, but the poor new guy that get ripped off, that you won't even talk to, like "hey, you are new ? welcome to this bracket, hope to see you again tomorrow etc", I never seen it.

I also remember of a time where you guys, alliance had 5 healers, well let's say 4 pure healer and one hibrid (that had more heal than dmg anyway), and you asked us horde at the same time on forums to "dust off your healers". If you want to have a bracket with half of healers, you are not well, to be correct. This that kind of lines that means shooting yourself in the foot, I dunno if you are ally or horde that's not the point.

You guys are still alive, for now. But in that much time if you didn't manage to increase your numbers it's coz you are not doing anything right... and no wonder why the US bracket is burried.
I'm sure if you runned the list of every single twink that showed up in thoses games since the deadly patch, you would be very surprised, how many people, you farmed, and who left. It's no better than farming in Wsg Exp, except no bracket is threatened in that later case, and we twinks are suposedly be a "community", which I'm not that sure about sometime.

If there was some kind of rules like "no use of AGM, no hunters one shotting the guy that is doing his first flight", and all I have stated above taken into account, you might improve things. I know for a fact that the first night I played there with you guys, what I call my first flight, I was scared coz I knew it was going to be hardcore even tho I was maxxed out, and AGM and all the shit u could have. My first impression of my first night was like "the healer is going to heal in priority the mates he knows on IRC etc", thats the first impression Ive had... I was doing the most damage, but I was also the first who ever died in that game. Warm welcome, but I accepted the penalty, how many did not ? I stayed in that bracket for weeks, but Ive seen many who left in a heartbeat. And I eventually did anyway, I might come back later, but that's not on my plans. Too late (10pm), too few games, no evolution and I know you start having nights without any games.
I'm not saying it have to turn into a Pokemon battle, with hearts everywhere and kisses but if you took your time, and respected your bracket enought, you could go hardcore progressively once you could run 3 games, and spread out all your hardcoreness in all 3 games. Or only play hardcore after midnight etc...

I could say a lot more about what I've seen, but I'll stop right there, if that gave you some thought, I'll take it.

With great power comes great responsibility...

    Good luck tho.

We've tried to have the games earlier than 22.00, but it hasn't been working. We try to make the sides even, and we really try to manage stuff like aimed shot hunters, death rays etc.

That is why we've had games going since 3.2 on a quite consistent basis, and we really try to make people feel welcome. It's a competitive bg, but that's why we do it. We don't want to play in lvl 80 farm bgs where people just semi-afk for honor.

Well, i don't think it's a problem that we bash newbies. If this should be the case then it's only part of the problem. We suffer from the following:

    1) Many players just want to be entertained. They show up once and if there is no game this day they are likely to never show up again and do something else. If you want to keep such a small bracket like 29 going people have to show up every day for half an hour, come rain or shine. No raid or whatever should keep you from queueing at 22h!

    2) We are lacking a community. The only reason old school Cruelty got games after patch 3.1 and the others didn't was that we all knew each other and *wanted* to play together. We started off with 5 vs 5 Warsongs. And we had fun and we surely didn't gank each other if one side had more players.
Nowadays many players seem to be so overwhelemd by getting a game at all that they kill everything on sight, they gank and farm even if their team has more players. Noone cares about balance. Ruthless Aimed Shot hunter players just top this sad state off. The result is of course no more games after that.

    3) The sad truth is that most twinks pre 3.1 were exactly like people accused them to be: Skillless farmers who wanted easy kills. That is not per se a bad thing as WoW is a game for fun but this surely didn't helpt to build a competitive community after 3.1. About 90% of the old twink players never showed up again. Most people don't want to be on equal footing, they want unfair advantages. It was and is also a problem that single players could fuck up everything just by playing an Aimed Shot hunter.

I for one am done with 29 twinking. I've had amazing times in 20-29 since early 2007. And especially the few games we had since patch 3.1 often were top notch. But right now i cannot see a common will to keep this going. If such a will should show itself in the future i will most likely come back but i will not be the one to try to organize everything anymore.

So long and thanks for all the fish...rum!

I guess we'll have to wait and see what Cataclysm has to offer.
