BIG Warrior Question

I am making my first ever 19 warrior, Krankk, and have come across a bump in the road.

There is a huge decision I have to make between 2 reward items from the Battle for Hillsbrad Foothills quest chain.

I can either take Runic Darkblade

Or Deadskull Shield

Each would almost be best in slot, and each would be an asset to any warrior.


The Runic Darkblade would greatly increase DPS, and since the item level is 32, I am pretty certain that Shadow Oil and/or Frost Oil can be used on it, that combined with a fiery weapon enchant would make it have insane burst damage. Deadskull Shield coupled with the +7 stamina enchant will greatly increase health and therefore survivability.

I kind of want to focus on DPS, FC only when the team is TOTALLY full of scrubs, and maybe eventually tank for the twink raids my guild will be doing.

Any advice at all is appreciated.

I say for sure get the shield no questions asked... I know you want to focus on DPS but basicly you are much better off Sword n Board vs any other class then you are with a two hand.

Thanks a lot, I was sort of leaning towards the shield.

What I usually do is buy up random BoE blues on the AH just to try them out, and have about 6 different weapons on my warrior at the moment, planning on using 2h's for casters/healers to get them down quick.

I have problem with that though, regarding which to enchant with Crusader, I have:

Searing Blade (already enchanted with fiery just for kicks)

Black Malice

Sin'dorei Warblade

Cruel Barb

Butcher's Slicer

Thief's Blade

Yes, its a bunch >_>

But I don't feel like putting the 120g enchant on a weapon, then regretting it later =]

If you need another opinion, I'd also go with the shield. My warrior uses sword 'n' board 99% of the time, and I'd kill for Deadskull Shield on Alliance, since my warrior's mostly stamina based and I FC a lot, usually capturing 2 flags a game since most Alliance go straight to the Horde GY these days.

You're going to find out quickly that the shield will be much more useful with all the hunters running around.

The shield, definitely.
for a 2hander i use the BOA axe with crusader, if you can't get BoA, i'd use either Night reaver if you can find it on the AH or smite's mighty hammer.

/agree shield hands down, grab a smites with +25 agility and night reaver with crusader.

I was sort of planning on sticking with the weapons I have now until I go on a farming spree in SFK, so out of those ones which should I throw crusader on?
