I normally start out a post highlighting the good things about a situation that I am going to complain about, but you know what… fuck it. I am just going to say that I am very displeased with 3.2 now. So displeased that I actually did something I don’t do much… end game. Yikes. I spent almost all weekend on an 80 Druid. I did enough instances and such that I finally finished the “Epic” achievement (This one is tough for a feral druid since there was no 213 “feral druid” relic) by purchasing the Idol of the Corrupter with 22 marks left over (started with zero). I also ran the regular 5 man Trial of the Champion 11 times until I finally got The Black Heart. I also did some Isle of Conquests and a 2 hour failed, pug 10 Man Trial of the Crusader.
I finished the weekend spending the last 2 hours of it either in a 10 Alliance vs 5 Horde WSG @ 19, waiting on deserter buff to go away, or waiting in queue. Yes, I ended up afking out of 3 games last night. This is pretty weird because I don’t afk out normally. All three games started 9-5 or 10-5 in favor of the Alliance. All they had to do is come across, rush the flag room and cap. Game over really. This after waiting 10-15 minutes to get into a game in the 1st place. Now add a deserter buff for 15 minutes and 2 hours goes by really fast.
Sure, I could do the “queue with the lowbies” thing, but you know… I might get games much faster, but that’s not fun at all. Playing with and against non-twinks was one of the shittiest parts of life as a 19 twink prior to 3.2’s release. I could set up a match with one of the Alliance guilds dying for a 10 man, but ya know… the 20 minute thing fucking blows and I am not sure I want to get a game going an then right before I am about to blow my load, pull out… 20 minutes is up. Screw you Blizz.
OK, since I need to say at least one thing nice. The idea of playing twink vs twink was something I thought would be awesome, really, but it’s not working out to well. During primetime, the games are not bad, but any other time the queue time is really bad. Out of 4 battlegroups I have queue 19s on in the last week, Ruin is the best off, but even in Ruin, it’s enough for me to easily decide to watch TV rather than play Wow. What do you think?

In summary, Blizzard finally acknowledged twinks with 3.2, but they also took a big amount of my enjoyment from them too. I am not saying that I am done, but right now… I ain’t feeling this.

Granted putting in XP in BG’s and not making it a viable way to lvl is a bit confusing but again THIS IS WHAT EVERYBODY WANTED! Xp is turned off, you can pve, you finish old twinks, all bgs are twinks vs twinks. Everybody wanted this, post after post defending twinks involved this and now we have it, we want again what we can’t have.
IF you have bad que times MAKE A NEW TWINK, its not like its hard or difficult, you don’t even need to plan just lvl to x9 with a RAF in 2 days turn off xp and get your shit. And hopefully you were smart enough to make it in a BG that has lots of activity.

I love this patch. Seriously you need to re-evalutate your thinking. IF games are not popping in XP off bgs it is because there are not enough twinks queueing. And that’s blizzard’s fault? Nothing better than pugging 10v10 wsg with full twinks on both sides. If you don’t like this then you’d rather be killing non-twinks; not much of a challenge there :/

It would be great to have twinks vs twinks for longer than 20 minutes. Those were the best games. Epic battles involving strategy and timing. I would die to have that back. You can’t organize 10 people to play the rolls needed to win in WSG in 20 minutes. One drood that knows what he’s doing can keep the flag for 20 minutes all by himself unless you have a concentrated push by experienced players who’ve played with each other and know what needs to be done. Blizzard hasn’t given me what I wanted. Its like they’ve put a naked porn star on my bed, but I have no condom. I’d love to get down with her and I know it would be mind blowing sex, but I can’t!
I enjoy 10 v 10 with twinks. Reread my post. I said that horde starting out with 5 twinks vs 10 twinks 3 out of 3 times last night for me. This also happened Friday night as well. Saturday afternoon was ok though.

I used to spend 75-80% of my time on my 19s before the patch. Now I’m spending 95% of my time on my high lvl toons. I’m still enjoying WoW and am not going to quit because I don’t play my twinks anymore, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit in a queue longer than the match can last. I’ve got too many other things I want to do in game.
Twinking used to be a fun and fast distraction. I used to be able to hop in a BG really pretty quickly and that was what I liked. A fast bit of excitement, nearly always ready and waiting for you. Now I’m the one doing the waiting. I’ll keep on with the end game and leveling and hope that somewhere down the road some changes come along that make it easier to get matches. Then I’ll dust off my twinks and enjoy that part of the game again.

The 20 minutes deadline was also heavily frowned upon as soon as the news came out.
The XP lock has proved to be a dead-end as far as level-19 WSG is concerned.

Just give it time its only been a week. A lot of people are probably grinding hard (when they can actually get into instances) on their mains for BoA gear for their twinks. Not only that the good twinks are probably trying get better and complete sets that they couldn’t have before XP was turned off.
Still, other twinks are going out and trying to solo PvE content to see how their twinks stack up against the PvE world (How often do you think someone will want to solo VC?). Finally some twinks are working on that random achievment that before was not possible (eg “100 quests completed” or “Explorer”) or actually leveling another twink through the BG system!

The reality has been bad or at best unsatisfying games in both xp and non-xp battlegrounds.

i don’t get it, this patch is great for twinks that actually get Qs popping.
i personally play where games are active, and there IS activity in 19/29/39/49 in certain battlegroups, and i imagine at 60/70, if you have a capped account. and the games are great. despite the timer (which by the way does reduce Q times), the games are still fun. i will say after the first cap it can become “gg” but there was one game where we rallied in the next 10 minutes and came back from 0-1 to win 2-1, and it was really fun.
to fill in the time in the morning or afternoon when queues aren’t popping as much, i’m making a casual person to level through the BGs. also i’m simply just doing something other than WoW. it works for me.
all twink action is awsome. if they remove the timer and merge battlegroups, it will be as good as it will ever get IMO.
i give it a B, although i do take my battlegroups for granted.

I play on Vengeance battlegroup. The 19’s are ok, there is usually a WSG or 2 going on at all times, and the arenas pop quick. Before the patch however i had been slowly building multiple twinks. was working on a 59, 49, 29, and had recently completed an awesome 39 priest.
after all my time and effort on that 39, he is now completely worthless. I have never seen a 39 bg pop on Vengeance. I am not going to pay blizzard so i can transfer to another battlegroup unless i can move all my characters. I am praying they announce a battlegroup merger soon because twinking was the only thing keeping me interested in the game and any left over interest is now fading fast.
I gave them a C. The patch was good in theory. It’s just not good in practice. I can’t play my 59 anymore so I’m left farming honor in Silithis while I wait for something to happen.
If a 59/60 twink on a non-capped account wants honor for PvP gear for some reason, the honor gain for repeated Silithyst runs isn’t too bad. I’m going to finish out my Warlord set and if games aren’t running again by the time I get it I’ll just use it for leveling through Outland.

Reasons – I’ve been playing wow since the 2.3 patch, and I honestly miss the good old days where blizzard had the game metrics in the favor of level ten twinks, were warriors would top 100% block, dodge, parry, were hunters and rogues could top 100% dodge and where the fishing boots, librams, and leg attachments were installed… I honestly miss the good old days and I would do [u]anything[/u] to see them back, even if it means resorting to Zuty’s private server…
On a further note, adding cheeta to hunters, ghost wolf to shamans, and travel form to druids was just a epic fail. Even though the leveling community wanted this to make travel faster, no one seems to give a crud about the minority parties anymore. Does anyone else but me, see how fucking far this game has fallen?
By the way, theres only one reason why I gave it a F… Turning off EXP from [b]all[/b] ways of gaining it… I opens up so many more gear possibilities for level ten twinking…

I find it kinda funny that people are bitching and moaning about blizzard still. they have given us what we want (twink V twink BGs), and as a side effect the queue times in certain brackets have gone through the roof. This is nobody’s fault but the twink community. we tried to convince blizz that we could be a self-sufficient community, and since not enough twinks are even wueueing up to get a good 29s/39s/etc game going, it’s clear to me that this isn’t the case. we have doomed ourrselves, and Blizz isn’t going to save us. if we want people playing twinks, we need to help promote them more. it’s not blizzard’s job to fix queue times for a community that they just “acknowledge”. if you really want twink v twink BGs (which by the way, I think most people say they want just so they don’t seem like scrubs), get off your asses and do something about it instead of blaming blizzard.

I grade 3.2 a B. For me it comes down to this: If I had to choose between all-twink 29 BGs with long queue times (hit or miss on Bloodlust) or the mixed BGs with short queue times, I’ll take the long queues 10 times out of 10. Yeah, it’s a long wait. Yeah, the timer sucks. Yeah, it’s a great time for me, who doesn’t play enough to be involved in premades on a regular basis. My 59 may never see action again (I hope that’s not true), but it’ll be worth it for me.

So Blizz has officially made twinks that keep leveling as twinks and keep nailing others in bg’s. I keep hearing people swearing after these BoA equipped in bg’s (with my non twink level 35 shaman) yelling “WEREN’T THE F*@£ING TWINKS OUT OF THE NORMAL BG’S!?!?!” I try to inform them that they aren’t the old twinkies they used to meet but the new leveling blizz-made pseudo twinks and that they will surely get facerolled by them again as soon as they grow into their next brackets.
Hope they understand that things haven’t changed.

No fun in having a really competitive pug or premade match when it’s guaranteed to only last 20 minutes. That in itself destroys the whole point.
Since 3.2 hit I’ve been able to get into two WSG matches on my level 39 warrior in the vengeance bracket. Both games were amazingly fun and I recognized many of the people I was fighting.
I had to wait a considerable time to get into these games though, and if I didn’t make it into the only WSG going on, I had to wait 20 minutes for the next one.
I hope bliz does something to fix the queue times, like merging the battlegroups or some such, but I don’t really see that happening in the near future. I liked the ability to log onto my twink and play him for a bit, then log off. Now I need to go onto the BG forums and find out when everyone else is queueing and plan ahead, and hope work/raiding/rl don’t conflict with the times selected.

pre-3.2, theorycrafting about it, yes it did seem like the 20 minute timer would be all bad and even made me want to quit. but after playing a few games, i’ve learned there is still fun to be had.
despite the timer cutting off some epic games short, for most brackets/battlegroups this allows shorter queue times. i would rather have more epic games than shorter queues but hey it’s still a tradeoff.
also, games are not boring, at least before the first cap. yes, it sucks once a team caps, but before that it is twinkvtwink action, pug or premade, ANY game you get into (assuming you don’t jump in late). depending on battlegroup of course your games may vary, but for me they are fun even with the timer.
i’m not sure how much you have played but i know that i haven’t been too disappointed with 3.2.
I’m out of this until further changes I start playing with that 300Gb games I dled years ago but never tried.

I was cursing on god damn many people, made some ass quit the bracket, got a lot of friends from different servers, xferred to server just to join guilds, xferred to other battlegroups but not anymore.
They want to make lvl 80 like game from all the brackets by inspiring people not to bother with playing low levels but level up cause on 80 you can spend your lifetime on getting better and better gear what they constantly renew so you are in an endless loop and pumping blizztard the cash and in the meantime if u planning to stay on low levels and just keep making money to maintain your twink you can have a life next to it……
What I can predict about the xp bgs is that you wont see much of a twinks on them after a month and the games will go so unbalanced like hell pbly on hordes favor because ally won’t have their usual twinks who were saving the day and in the meantime ally queues will be filled with lowbies (as usually), 12yos who dont even know/care whats the objective, ppl who afking on bgs etc etc. and on the top of it there will be the absoloute rager old twinks who going to level up chars again and again to twink it on like lvl16 so they can have 100 wsgs and farm lowbies (and I bet this will happen on 19 cause it’s fast to lvl and twink char on that bracket). Now how the hell is this better than it was? It isn’t.

I’ve played two games of Warsong 39 since patch on a hunter I was leveling. It was packed with twinks, and even had a premade. So the idea of separating twinks/nontwinks kinda failed.
I have serious issues with the timer. I am basically doing the pve grind until I feel motivated to play Warsong again. The fact is, the devs fucked up the main part of the game that I enjoyed.
It’s also true that 3 classes with speed increase also fucks up 19’s. Why didn’t mages get Blink?
Lastly, it’s messed up that people are transferring and paying Blizz $25 rather than raising hell about the queue times. Blizz CAN combine battlegroups in the same datacenter. It’s not realistic for other battlegroups to merge, but they can at least address the problem.

Clearly you haven’t played in many 10v10 premades that last over an hour. These games were by best experiences in WoW, by far.

Unfortunately, there are massive technical limitations that prevent this from being a viable solution.

I wouldn’t say we recognize it to be a problem. There are those who love to twink characters, purposefully trying to stay at a specific level with specific gear just so they’re more powerful than the majority of the characters within at least 4 or 5 levels of them. Then there are those who wouldn’t mind playing in a Battleground for fun now and then during the leveling process, particularly now that experience is offered. If Battleground queue times for twinks on any given Battlegroup are so long, I think it just goes to show what a small, niche form of game play twinking is.
As a company, we’ve never officially supported twinking. We’ve just been allowing it this whole time. Now with patch 3.2, we’re technically supporting twinking by allowing players who aren’t level capped to play in Battlegrounds without risking leveling up. The only fair way to do this though is to separate the twinks from everyone else, and thus you have whatever is left over in the twink queues.

The only thing that i hate about the patch is hunters getting aspect of the cheetah, shamans getting there ghost wolf form, and druids getting travel form. Im twink healer and i get really annoyed when the fc runs off leaving me behind and then we end up losing because the idiots wont wait up for there heals.
I voted “b” for blizz. I have had ZERO problems with Q times over on Cyclone 19s, and *gasp* it almost feels like wsg pops even faster than before 3.2. The games i’ve been in, with icedup, Rip, and Eliot have been some of the most challeneging, fun and rewarding matches ive played in…. ever. As a shaman I dont support the GW change, druid change at all. The thing is, I’ll be in a great, really fucking fun game with a lot of pros….. then itll end. Kind of like watching a great movie, but knowing its going to end soon, kinda dissappointing.
B- IMO.
Now that I’ve experienced it, I like fighting in “twink only” BG’s. At least Blizz is trying. The 20 min is a little to short and gives a majority of the people that 1 cap then turtle is a good idea. Maybe with at least 30 min, people would be obligated to keep trying to make 3 full caps.
personally, I think they should just make the timer 60 min.
@Phazz – why all the hatred? If everyone here is a scrub, then why bother coming to this website? It’s like buying tickets and going to a comic book convention and calling everyone else a nerd….so who’s the hypocrite?

So I will admit Im new to the game, but blizz is an asshole. . .
So I finished my new twink today (spent 300 gold on him and 12 hours of my time), only to find out Im in a “twink” BG cause I halted my xp! WTF! Why would I spend all that time and gold to make my twink when I’m fighting in a separate BG of all twinks. I made the dam twink to own a certain bracket for fun, NOT play against other OP twinks. . . Don’t get me wrong I like fighting other twinks in normal BGs, its exciting, but not a whole dam server of them, cause that negates the whole reason I made it >:(
